Botox Vs Natural Treatments
Botox is the name of the product derived from the toxin of the Clostridium botulinum. The secretion derived from Clostridium botulinum was considered only as a toxin in its early days of discovery. The intensive studies on the toxin helped to discover many other uses for it. The commercial products derived from this toxin are generally known as Botox. The usefulness of Botox is mainly in the cosmetic area, neurological treatment, and as antiperspirant.
Botox was primarily approved by the FDA in 1989, for the treatment of eye muscle disorders such as blepharospasm and misaligned eyes, called strabismus. In 2000, the use of Botox for the neurological movement disorder known as cervical dystonia was started. Some have postulated that Botox may also be an effective remedy for migraine headaches and muscle spasms. However, the most fascinating use of the Botox is in cosmetic treatment. Botox is mainly used in face-lifting treatments, to reduce the wrinkles in the face, such as the crow’s feet around the eyes, frown lines in the forehead and thick bands in neck. As today’s world is more interested in maintaining skin appearance and enhancing glamour, Botox is becoming much more popular as a single remedy to make skin smoother, more attractive and refreshing for both men and women.
Botox was assigned for all these treatments, based on its basic toxin action strategy, which is the paralysis of the muscles by blockage of the nerve impulses. In cases of wrinkles, the muscle becomes smoother due to this loss of tension, and as the action is temporary, soon the muscles will go back to its earlier stage, when the toxin effect is extinguished. The treatment is given through injections by a cosmetologist, and it has to be repeated after a certain time. The treatment is not recommended, because of the risk of possible side effects, such as bruising at injection site, neck pain, headache, nausea, dysphasia, ptosis and infections.
Several natural remedies are put forward instead of Botox as face boosters, which can rectify the cosmetic problems naturally. Now, the trend is to resort to natural treatments since these quality products can totally erase the fear of side effects. Usually, the ingredients in natural products can assure better results,as most of them are natural skin toners and boosters such as vitamins and minerals, which are blended in a unique formula. Also, the effect of these products will be long lasting and easily handled. Some of the natural products for cosmetic remedies include Natralox and Nexugen.
