Breathe-ease XL is a moisturising and irrigation solution for the nose, that is effective, additive-free, convenient and easy to use. It is formulated to replicate the body's natural salinity and electrolyte composition. This unique formulation is reported in medical journals as clinically proven to help prevent the nasal cilia from swelling due to infection, allergy and congestion, likely due to its compatibility with the body, as opposed to other saline solutions. The Breathe-ease XL solution can be made by yourself by just mixing with water. Each 5gm amount of Breathe-ease powder makes 500ml of nasal irrigating solution. Designed specifically for use with the HydroPulse, but can also be used with the RinoFlow sinus irrigation units.
Saline Moisturiser
Saline nose drops are needed for most nasal and sinus conditions. They are recommended for dryness, crusting and as an aid to normal nasal function. Saline can also be used to prevent and treat nose bleeds. The nose is supposed to moisten inhaled air, helping
to maintain a moist environment for the cilia in the sinuses which are the body's first line of defense against infection.
The moist, mucous environment also forms a pathway for the good white cells to reach the bad bacteria that may attempt to infect the body. Any blockage, dryness, itching, or crusting in the nose means that the nasal cilia are not able to flow freely, preventing them from doing their very important job of trapping foreign bodies entering the nasal cavity. Saline has always been considered the most common, safe and simple such moisturiser. Today, we know that the preservatives that must be added to pharmacy nasal sprays to insure a long shelf life, can be harmful or irritating to the nose, especially when the nose is irritated already.

It is important to avoid any of these preservatives that might irritate an already sore nose, so BreatheĀ·ease XL was developed as a means of providing a solution for the dry stuffy irritated nose.
Saline Solutions - Lab Tests
Professor Wilbert M Boek of University Hospital, Utrecht reported that solutions containing potassium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and salt were much better for restoring nasal/sinus cilia than those without these ingredients. BreatheĀ·ease XL is a formula designed to restore cilia function and avoid the use of some of the preservatives that can harm the delicate nasal membranes.
BreatheĀ·ease XL can also be used by children. The incidence of children with sinusitis is increasing at an alarming rate. Many of these children could be helped by regular use of a moisturising solution and there is no preservative to burn.
Clearing of Sinus Infections
Experience has shown that when the BreatheĀ·ease XL formula is used for sinus irrigation, patients get better clearing of sinus infection and less post nasal drip. This is because there is no iodine, preservatives, or silica in the formula.
Sinus Treatments
- For kids or adults with coloured discharge: 3 to
4x a day.
- For kids or adults with nose bleed: 3 to 4x a
day.
- For dry weather: 2x a day.
- For smog days: 2 to 3x a day.
- To prevent nose bleeds: 2x a day.
